ABOUT US
|
John and Lynn had first met at Welland High and Vocational School during the early 1960's and had been long-time friends throughout Lynn's first marriage. John worked in Los Angeles as a writer for a while, and Lynn lived for a few years at Sunshine Falls in North Vancouver while working at University of British Columbia. Both returned to Ontario and the friendship continued. John operated three Kettle Creek shops in the Niagara Peninsula and Lynn worked for the North York Board of Education before coming to Kingston to work at Ongwanada in the early '80's. We were married in Yarker in 1988 and had the wedding reception in Mr. Merrill Wright's former furniture shop in the building beside the falls in Yarker. This building became the site of The Waterfall Tearoom and The Wonderful Store the following year (see above photo).
Both of us have always had an interest in expressing our creative selves throughout our working life and that drive continues into our retirement. Lynn has loved painting and working with fibre since childhood. John's passion since his teens is writing (poems, novels, non-fiction). He also loves painting, sculpting in a variety of media, and photography as visual poetry.
